The Dyson DC41 Pre Filter and DC65 Pre-Filter are on in the same. It is located inside the cyclonic assembly. After dirt and debris are deposited in to the clear bin the air then passes through the pre-filter where it cleans most of the fine dust and other small particles that have made it past the clear bin.
The dyson dc41 &65 filter can be washed. Only use cool water to wash any of Dysons washable filters. Once the water run clean when washing the filter, gently squeeze any excess water from it and leave it out to dry for a full twenty four hours. . It is a good idea to have an extra filter to place back into your vacuum while the other one in drying.
